Spell Check
Spell checkers are useful in helping users edit their work. MS Word provides two spell check
options. One option notifies the user immediately when a word is misspelled. The other option is
used after the user's writing is completed.
Turn on Automatic Spelling
- On the Tools menu, click Options, and then click the Spelling & Grammar tab.
- To turn on or off automatic spelling checking, select or clear the Check spelling as
you type check box.
- The spelling checker uses wavy red underline to indicate possible spelling errors. It uses wavy green underline to indicate possible grammatical errors.
- To correct an error, right-click a word with a wavy underline. Or press <SHIFT> F10 or right button click.
A box appears with corrections, and other options to choose from. Select the correct word. Continue to spell check the rest of the underlined words.
- Suggestions may be ignored or words may be added to the spelling dictionary.9
