Corel WordPerfect is an industry-leading word processor with two features that are particularly useful for improving literacy skills. The user can right-click on the word to bring up a list of possible correct spellings from which to choose. The list also can be made visible as a menu item, a feature, which is not available in MS Word. With Grammar check, grammatical errors are underlined in blue (to distinguish them from spelling errors). A description of each error is available by using the "Grammatik" tool to check the document. The descriptions alert users to possible errors in their writing. WordPerfect is an excellent program.

WordPerfect Office 12 application display settings may be changed, in several ways to facilitate readability. In Quattro Pro and Presentations, a Zoom Level dialog box provides easy access to these settings. In WordPerfect, before the page display can be enlarged or reduced the document must be in either Draft or Page View. For convenience, Zoom Level commands may be accessed from the property bar, by using the PerfectExpert or by using keyboard shortcuts.

Users can create and edit a custom keyboard by assigning features, keystrokes, applications, and macros to keys on the keyboard. Many WordPerfect operations can be executed using keyboard shortcut commands.
WordPerfect Office 12 lets users choose which toolbars are displayed on screen. Floating or docked toolbars may be chosen. In addition, custom toolbars can be created to provide quick access to frequently used features, keystrokes, commands, and macros.
