Activity Four:
- review the Key Vocabulary List (found at
the end of this unit) with your student
- have her print each of the words on an
index card or on a slip of paper
- as she reads each work check for
pronunciation and meaning
- have her use each word in a sentence
(verbally)
- for homework have her review the
vocabulary by using 5-10 words per night in a sentence
Activity Five:
- review the vocabulary list and
definitions of personal, technical and transferable skills
- place the headings Personal, Technical
and Transferable on the table (Use handout: Skills Identification Chart)
- take each slip of paper with a skill
written on it and have your student use it in a sentence and then place it
under the appropriate heading (ie: using a calculator - technical

- ask your student to choose the skills
from each column that she feels relate to her
- have her record these skills on the
handout, Skills I Own
- ask her to develop point form sentences
for each of these skills ie: able to use a computer - well-organized
individual

Seven:
- ask your student if she has any other
skills that she would like to add to the vocabulary list
- a home work activity would be to group
the skills based on: synonyms, or antonyms
